Maria Theodori is an associate for Reax Engineering Inc. in Berkeley, CA. Her technical specialization is in research and development of engineering solutions related to wildland fire risk and resilience. Theodori’s professional experience spans all aspects of fire protection and life safety on projects ranging from energy infrastructure to residential communities to international airports and historic preservations. She develops curated fire/life safety solutions by incorporating the best-available fire science with an evaluation of building/fire code and related standards. Theodori contributes as co-lead to a global research taskforce under the International Association for Fire Safety Science that aims to understand and improve response operations and evacuations in large-scale fire disasters. Before joining Reax Engineering, she worked as a Fire Engineer/Wildfire Specialist in the Advanced Technology and Research group at Arup in San Francisco, CA.
